A mini course to help you meet your florals more intentionally through the camera lens.
There is something quietly overwhelming about flowers when you really look at them. I'm constantly amazed by how unique and different floral photography feels. 8 years of trial & error, sitting with special arrangements & capturing them in 2D, I distilled this guide to help you wonder about it too.
The problem that I watch so many florists struggle with...
They create beautiful work - but often don’t have the time, tools, or training to fully capture it.
..........
Cue- the iPhone
I have been there right alongside you in the struggle.
Flowers are one of the most complex subjects to photograph. They change with light, and shapeshift before our eyes as they go from 3D to 2D form.
On top of that, we are running around with a million tasks to complete, yet in the crazyiness, we yearn to capture the work going out the door in the best way possible.
THAT is where the iPhone comes in so handy.
A camera in your pocket at all times.
But... sometimes that quick shot or short video never turns out the way you imagined. What you see in real life is almost never what appears in an image- unless you learn how to see differently & use your tools to their fullest.
Inside The Art of Capturing Flowers- iPhone Version we will explore how floral design and photography meet.
How composition, movement, and color theory translate from physical arrangement into a visual language.
This course gives you the steps behind what settings may be throwing you off, the why behind certain cinematic choices or lighting- and how to apply everything to capture your own floral work.
What this mini course includes ....
A 17-page, downloadable iPhone booklet
This PDF is chalked full of tips. Everything from settings you should know, to framing & lighting tips, and much more.
4 mini video courses
Each under 10 minutes long, showing me in my studio, actively finishing designs and walking you through how I capture them with my phone, right then and there.
Screen Recordings
You'll see both sides of the story with a dual angle. Watch me talk about why / how I am capturing each design, while ALSO seeing the live action on my iPhone screen. Perfect if you are a visual learner like me!
Bonus: a list of "other tools" to compliment your iPhone
Everything from my favorite backdrops, to phone stands to capture hands-free. I will continue to add to this list as I find great new tools.
What's something in common with each image below?
You got it- they were shot on iPhone. And that's not even talking about the VIDEOS yet (my favorite part).

I’m Karis — a floral designer and botanical artist based in California. So wonderful to have you here!
Over the years, flowers have taken me all over the world — freelancing, collaborating, and learning how many different languages botanical art can speak. Teaching has become one of my favorite ways to share that knowledge, helping other florists build confidence, clarity, & a strong UNIQUE design voice.
If you’d like to follow along with more of my work and story, you can find me here.
